This is a non-absorbent multifilamentated synthetic sterile surgical suture material. It is made of polyamide. It loses about 20% strength in a year. They are used in general surgery, for applying sutures on the skin, muscles, in tracheal and bronchial surgery, and, if necessary, ligation and tissues compounding, requiring long-term support for non-absorbent threads.
